Hey new member here.

Was unable to post in the Parts & Spares forum, but I knocked my left mirror recently, breaking the glass. Was told by reeds that I would need to replace the entire mirror at more or less R2000.
Was wondering if there are any places in Cape Town that could repair this for me at a cheaper rate.

Regards,
Janey

Hi

By entire mirror you must mean the glass that goes into the mirror housing. That sells for approx that amount of money at the dealers. The entire mirror costs much more. WRT the glass, you can try enquiring at places like PG Glass, but bear in mind that the original glass is not normal flat mirror glass, it has curvature, and if you replace it with flat glass you may have problems judging distance to objects in your rear view.

Hey Ashley,

So yes you were right it is just for the mirror and not the mirror casing/housing aswell. Thanks for the advice. Think I'm going to try enquire around for spare parts before I commit myself to paying R2k for a replacement mirror.
